Arts in Worship and the World - Sunday School class Celebrating God through the Arts - Arts celebration at Cyrus Ministries in Big Rock, IL Karitos Christian Arts Festival - One of the nation's foremost Christian arts festivals. Let Promise Garden Come to You - Want to schedule a speaker or arts event for your church or organization? Sunday School Class at Immanuel Presbyterian Church - Warrenville, IL March 16 - April 20, 2008 Instructor: Paul R. Lloyd Christian artists reach out to the world in four ways: worship ministries, general Christian ministries, fine arts, and commercial arts. All four present opportunities for sharing the word in truly inspiring and unique ways. Artists ministering through the arts in worship share the word among the faithful and those seekers attending worship service. Artists in general Christian ministries use their art gifts to inspire Christians through avenues not directly related to Sunday worship, such as writing novels, creating inspirational posters and recording music. Fine arts present Christian artists with an opportunity to inspire, inform and motivate individuals to seek Christ. Commercial arts present an opportunity to assure that the business world stays faithful to Judaic-Christian moral principles in a world rapidly losing touch with its traditional values and culture. This class will use artists from within the Immanuel congregation and guest artists to discuss how they address evangelism through their arts. Featuring a team of professional trainers from Karitos. Discover how the arts are used to celebrate God. Enjoy music, dance, visual art, photography, story and multimedia. Learn from workshops on writing, visual art, fiber art, photography, dance, prophetic music and hip hop. This is a Karitos Christian Arts event. Proceeds go towards the Karitos Christian Arts Conference. See below for details. Cost: $10 per person (Students $5). If you attend the fiber arts workshop, there will be an additional fee for supplies.
