Look at the apple. Why is it red? Why does it taste good? Why is it good for you to eat?

It feels hard and solid. But when you bite into it, it is soft and juicy. Appearances can be deceiving. A hard outer shell holds the juiciness in, but does not allow the sweetness to come out. First, the skin must be broken... then the juiciness can flow outward for others to enjoy.

Hard skin is like armor. The thicker it gets, the more difficult to penetrate. Jesus can help us take off the armor we wear so we can sit and relax in His Presence and let the sweetness He gives us flow out to others.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5 NIV)
